When you speak to a crowd of people, speak to them as if you are speaking to a
friend. Look around the room from one person to another when speaking.

Welcome to the Hot Springs Mobile DJ Blog! As always, we welcome your questions and
comments on a whole host of topics specifically related to being a mobile DJ in and around
Hot Springs and the Central Arkansas region. Here you'll find tips on songs that we are
recommending for DJs to add to their play lists. These are usually updated weekly. You will
also find other various tips and wisdom related to being a mobile DJ, running a business,
and life in general. We invite you to check out our sister blogs, Arkansas Mobile DJ Blog
and Little Rock Mobile DJ Blog.
The Golden Age of radio was a time when community service was one of the most important
aspects of the business. It was the DJ who put a face to it, with personal appearances and
promotions. Since the mobile DJ industry grew out of the radio industry, our business has strong
roots in community service as well. DJs are always asking me business related questions
regarding how much I charge, the kind of events that I usually do and so forth. If we are not careful,
we can miss the forest for the trees. I can't tell other DJs
what they can charge or what kind of events they should
do. The one thing I will say to any DJ who aspires to grow
their business is to give of your time and money. Give back
to the community that supports you. When you look for
chances to give, you will notice that they always present
themselves. What will you leave for future generations?
Will it be legacy of giving or taking?

What is now known as Pro Productions Internet
Radio, or PPIR, has existed for a very long time.
Our listenership has grown from a few people
hearing mixtapes to an audience that's
worldwide. We've gone from Fisher-Price mics
to Electo-Voice, and from 45s to mp3. Our play
lists have gone from torn out pieces of notebook
paper to text files. We no longer have "Burning
Heart" by Survivor or "She Believes In Me" by
Kenny Roger in heavy rotation. And shorts with
flowers can only be worn at nights and on the
weekend!

This was my view of things last Saturday
night. From behind my equipment, you can
see a dance floor packed full of lovely ladies.
Beyond that, is my view of a lovely sunset at
the wedding reception of Brooke and Bradley.
Congrats again.
We wish you many years of joy together!
Also we want to send a shout out to everyone
working at the Hot Springs Country Club,
some of which I've know for many years, and
some of which I've just met. You guys do a
great job!

Last weekend's show was so hot, people literally started jumping in the lake! Happy sweet 16 to
Hannah! Could they hear the music underwater??? I'd like to think so!

Congratulations to Carol and Kyle. Thanks for
allowing us to be part of your wedding day.
A good time was had by all. As you can see by
all of the activity on the dance floor, mobile DJ
services were provided by Pro Productions
and yours truly. Services were also provided
by Pam's Party Rentals & Event Planning, and
Special Touch Catering.

This was the scene last night at poolside as the sun went
down over the city. The first hour was a little warm. But if you
are looking for a place for an event on Lake Hamilton with a
really nice summer breeze, this is it! Surrounded by the lake
on both sides, Hot Springs Clarion Resort is great for event's
both inside and outside. It's also one of the best places in
Hot Springs to watch the sun set.
The steam engine pictured above is actually one of two grills
that cooked some of the best steaks I've ever had! The
couple dancing were here from northern Louisiana. Did
they enjoy themselves in Hot Springs? I think they did!
Thanks to all who work at the Clarion. They really know how
to put on world-class events! Also thanks to our clients, and
all of the new friends we made last night!

This past spring, I had the privilege of being part of a great program called Skills USA. It's a
competition where students from high schools and a few technical schools compete in their
own specified areas of interest against others, and learn great deal in the process. I want to
thank KASU Station Manager and the man who taught me radio production at Arkansas State
University, Mike Doyle for contacting me to help him with this event. Our part of Skills USA was to
rate radio ads written and produced by students. There were other areas such as TV production,
culinary arts, law enforcement, woodworking, auto mechanics, brick laying, nail tech, web
design, and computer animation just to name a few!

We met lots of new friends last night at a softball tournament. I'm thankful for my trusty fan that
I've had since college. Any fan that can make it through 4 or 5 years of college must be well
built! Congrats to all of the winners and everyone who participated. Thanks for having us out.
Music really does enhance sporting events. And no sporting event is complete without lots of
give-aways. We actually recorded the whole show last night. Look for that up on our site real
soon.
